Pushing Through Has a Ceiling

Most athletes I work with have spent a long time telling themselves it's just nerves, just pressure, just part of the game. And for a while, that works. But anxiety, OCD, depression, sleep issues, and focus problems don't tend to resolve on their own. At some point, the mental side of your game becomes the thing standing between you and your next level. That's where I come in.

I Get It Because I've Lived It

Hi, I’m Dr. Sarah Quaratella. I was a three-season Division I athlete at Yale. I know what it's like to be in an environment where asking for help feels like weakness, where your identity is tied up in how you perform, and where the expectation is always to push harder. That experience is why I pursued specialized training in sports and performance psychiatry, and it's in the room with me every time I see an athlete.

Treatment That Makes You Better at What You Do

I'm not interested in asking you to slow down or scale back. My goal is for you to leave treatment performing at a higher level than when you came in, in your sport and in your life. Here's what that work includes:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation specific to your sport and performance demands

  • Diagnosis and treatment of conditions including anxiety, OCD, depression, and ADHD

  • Sleep and recovery optimization

  • Support through injury, burnout, and return to sport

  • Identity and transition work for career changes and life after sport

  • Coordination with coaches, athletic trainers, and support staff

Caring for Elite Performers at Every Level

I work with athletes from high school and NCAA competitors to professionals and Olympians across a wide range of sports. I also work with executives, entrepreneurs, and high performers in demanding fields who operate under the same kind of pressure, and who benefit from the same performance-focused approach to care.

The Sports Psychiatry Process

Step 1: Initial Evaluation

A comprehensive intake that looks at your mental health history alongside your athletic background, training demands, and goals. This is a deep-dive, not just a standard intake.

Step 2: Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

Dr. Quaratella shares her findings and works with you to build a plan which is always made through the lens of your sport and your goals.

Step 3: Ongoing Care & Collaboration

Regular follow-ups, adjustments around your season or training load, and coordination with your coaching staff or sports medicine team when helpful.
